This entire weekend has been a wet one. The National Weather Service in Miami has issued flood warnings for Palm Beach and Broward counties through tomorrow evening. We may get between two and six inches of rain to deal with in a short period of time.
It rained on Saturday. These are a few shots taken from the patio:
It rained on Sunday. These were taken at a local park today before the storm:
Earlier this morning before the weather came in my husband and I took a nice long bike ride around “the Acreage.” We ran into one of the neighborhood peacocks, but he kept walking away from the camera. There is also a woodpecker that can only be seen in silhouette on a palm tree at the park.
This post is a little trial run of Windows Live Writer. Actually, this is part two of the trial - the post I had written yesterday disappeared overnight. One thing is certain - the photo placement options in Writer are great!
Hello, Dahling ~ I discovered Microsoft Live Writer a while back and love to post my entries with it. I just don't remember to use it that often. I don't know why.
ReplyDeleteGreat entry. Loved all the stormy pictures. I have always loved the rain! Don't you just have an interesting neighborhood with peacocks and such running around. They might burst into flames here in Texas it's so hot.
Wow! that sure is some rain! A great excuse to stay indoors and hook away, guilt-free!
ReplyDeleteOhhhh, I sure wish we had a little of that wet stuff!!! We have had one of the coolest summers EVER on record here where we live!! Crazy weather!!! Linda...do you suppose I could trouble you again for those directions to the granny stripes affy? I can't seem to find them in my emails. I am so sorry!
ReplyDeleteGreat pictures showing the weather. :) It was sunny and hot here this weekend. I wish we had some of that rain.
ReplyDeleteOh, please send some rain our way! It is so HOT and DRY here in Ohio. This is our weather forecast for the rest of the week... 98, 98, 98, 94, 94, 95...and NO RAIN!!!
ReplyDeleteThat's a great silhouette of a Pileated Woodpecker!
XOXO,
Cyndi
That's the sort of rain we get here in Queensland - heaps in a short time- causing flash floods. We never have a house at the bottom of a hill because you never know what can happen! Our only problem is it doesn't rain very often though we have some forecast for the next couple of days. Hope it happens as Spring is on the way.

I love the way the photos appear in this post - really lovely. Love the picture of the woodpecker too, you're quite the photographer!
ReplyDeleteHello there! What great photos. hey certainly capture the mood of the weather. We've actually had quite a warm and sunny weekend, over here on the eastern side of the UK. Great picture of the woodpecker! Lovely blog, by the way. Have a good week! Ros
ReplyDeleteRain may be a temporary distraction but in the long run usually a blessing... for the beautiful flowers, the luscious crops and the opportunity to stay inside and play with the computer.
ReplyDeleteThe results are perfect... a kaliedascope of a Floridian rainfall.
Enjoy the week.

Those picture layouts look great! It reminds me of a post I started to write last year and couldn't get the pix to look OK so gave up. Might just try having another look at it!
ReplyDeleteI haven't tried the microsoft writer yet, been wondering about it. I love the way you posted the pictures like little thumbnails.
ReplyDeleteSorry you're having so much rain down there.
We've vacationed in your area twice and loved it down there.
I'm out for a blog walk this am and found myself here.
Sandy
